Membership Information – ‘What’s In It For Me?’
Membership of the Veterinary Manufacturers and Distributors Association Inc. is open to all manufacturers and distributors (including wholesalers and retailers), of veterinary medicines and animal health products. Consultants to the industry are also welcome to become members.
Membership fees are scaled according to the size of the organisation, and are available from the VMDA on request.
Members are actively encouraged to participate in the VMDA’s decision-making processes, and input, especially from technical staff in relevant areas, is sought by the Board for submissions to government and other bodies.
The Objectives of the VMDA clearly express the benefits provided to members, and are as follows:
- To promote, foster and advance matters with a united approach to the interests of member companies.
- To persuade Australian and State Governments, veterinarians, farmers, distributors and all others who affect our industry, of the need for a reliable, energetic Australian veterinary manufacturing industry.
- To provide a strong, uniform voice for VMDA members in legal and other issues affecting our industry.
- To represent the members of VMDA with Government Departments and consultative committees, to ensure that all decisions are made considering the viability of the Australian veterinary industry.
- To lift the local and international profile of VMDA members.
- To liaise with other industry organisations on matters of common interest.
- To increase the professionalism of the industry by conducting training programs recognised by Government and consumers.
- Assembling speakers on topics of importance to our industry to address members on a regular basis.
Our membership fee structure is outlined below. The fees, which are based on a calendar year,
will be prorated from the day of joining. Also, turnover refers to registerable products.
